I think we should have put more sunscreen on
today…Ouch! We are french
fried!
We woke up this morning and had a nice quiet morning. When we first came out of our room a woman walked by and said "hurry get yoru shoes, a man just caught a 50 lb fish" So we ran down to the dock right in front of our room. There was a local man with this HUGE fish on the cleaning table. We took some pictures with it and the story is that he was out at 4:30 this morning and caught it. He was in a little canoe and only had a line, no pole, with a hook that was only 2 inches long! He took 2 hours to pull it in
We ate breakfast at the hotel, played
around in the sand and finally decided that we wanted to go kayaking. I just wanted to get out into the
blue water and all the snorkeling tours were already out or wouldn’t get back
until we needed to be on the water taxi out. We got 3 kayaks and paddled way out into the Caribbean
sea. We found some shallow sand
bars and got out to play. We let
the waves wash over us and snorkeled around a bit. We didn’t see any fish or other sea life, but we had fun
touching the bottom of the sea floor and splashing around with each other.
We had some lunch on the island at a little restaurant
called Licks then caught the water taxi back to the main land. It was so hard to say goodbye to this
beautiful island and this crystal blue water.
Tonight we went to a delicious dinner at a fancy restaurant with the Orrs then came back to our
quiet hotel. We are all exhausted
and half asleep. I hope when we
wake up we are not so burned…please?!?
little crawdads were everywhere!
The LDS church on the island, right on the Sea!
Look at how white that sand is!!!
waiting for the Orrs back in Belize city
